Toffee Bar Recipe With Saltines

Bake the saltines in a 400 degree oven for 5 minutes. (if there is excess room on the cookie sheet, fold up the foil so the crackers stay close together and the butter doesn't seep away from the crackers.) combine sugar and melted butter (the sugar will not dissolve).

Toffee bar recipe with saltines. Melt butter and sugar over medium/low heat. Line jelly roll pan with foil. Then line a jelly roll baking sheet with foil.

Spread the softened chocolate evenly over the top of the crackers and caramel. Pour slowly and evenly over the crackers. Let the toffee sit for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to melt and then spread evenly over the toffee using an offset spatula or a butter knife.

If you overlap the crackers, like i did, they’ll be a little thicker and more “bar” like. Carefully pour the caramel over the saltines and make sure all the crackers are covered in the caramel, using an offset spatula. In a large saucepan, bring butter and sugar to a boil.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 15×10 baking pan with foil. It’s addicting and one of my favorite chocolate treats! If you want the toffee to be thin, don’t overlap the crackers.

Line your jelly roll pan with foil, then spray the foil with cooking spray. The crackers might float a little, but that’s fine, just move them back in place with the tip of a knife and make sure all of the crackers are covered in the sugar mixture. Spread to cover crackers completely.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the hot toffee, and allow them to sit for one minute to soften and melt. Once it boils, don’t stir it, just let it cook for 3 minutes. Once it’s boiling, stop stirring completely and let it boil for 3 minutes.

This saltine cracker toffee was my grandma’s recipe. I like to lay out a piece of saran wrap, or foil, then place the toffee on top, and wrap the sides around it, so no toffee is showing. Some people refer to this saltine cracker toffee as “christmas crack”, but we make it all year long.

And they’re actually so good, and so satisfying. Pour over saltine crackers and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Pour evenly over saltines and bake in 350 degree oven for 5 minutes.

We played around a bit too. You’ll know the toffee layer is finished when it starts to bubble all over. Once it begins to boil, remove from heat.

In a saucepan over medium high heat melt the butter and brown sugar and whisk and let it boil for a few minutes. How to make saltine cracker toffee: Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

Add butter and brown sugar to a medium saucepan on medium high and cook and stir for 2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and bubbling. Add the saltines in neat rows side by side. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 tsp.

Pour over the saltines and spread out and bake in the oven for 5 minutes. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour mixture over crackers and bake 5 minutes.

(this way you won't wreck your pan, and they won't stick) heat the sugar and butter to boiling, then boil three minutes. How to make saltine toffee: Line cookie sheet with tin foil and lay saltines touching in a single layer.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and let it sit. Place the wrapped saltine cracker english toffee, in a plastic container, with a lid so there is no other other getting to it. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the saltines.

Bake the toffee crackers for 5 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling all over. To serve, break pieces of cracker toffee apart and place onto a plate. Sprinkle with preferred toppings of nuts, pretzels, candies, or sea salt, if using.

This helps with clean up and breaking the toffee up once it’s done, so you definitely don’t want to skip this step. When it begins to bubble, cook for 3 minutes while stirring. Saltine cracker toffee is a simple and tasty snack to prepare for unexpected visitors or just for a night in.

Brush the side of the pan with a moistened pastry brush to wash down any sugar. Melt on some chocolate chips and make it festive with the sprinkles and you’re ready to party after a quick chill in the fridge! Cover bottom of pan with saltines.

Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and set out the saltine crackers on top. Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves, stirring as required until the caramel comes to a boil. Either way is perfectly delicious!

Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. So just have fun with it! After the 3 minutes, you’ll pour the mixture over the saltine crackers and spread it around.
